24-hour marathon webinar focuses on general practice

An Australian organisation is turning its attention to general practice with a 24-hour online symposium in May. Simon Graff, PhD student in Aarhus, is one of the speakers.

General Practice Supervision Australia (GPSA) is organising a new marathon webinar on education and supervision. The event is specifically aimed at general practitioners (GPs), trainee doctors, clinical lecturers and others with a particular interest in general practice.

The content covers a broad range—from clinical practice and supervision to the diagnostic process and medical education in general practice. The programme features short and focused sessions with speakers from Australia and the rest of the world, including Denmark and Norway.

Over the course of 24 hours, a dynamic programme will be presented featuring as many as 48 different 30-minute sessions centred on education, training, supervision and practical learning. The distribution of sessions across day and night offers a unique opportunity to learn new things, gain insight and find inspiration—even in a busy everyday life.

Participants may attend the webinar live or view the recording later, at a time that suits them.

Presentation on cognitive bias

PhD student Simon Graff will contribute a presentation on cognitive bias in the diagnostic process. The session addresses how cognitive biases may influence clinical decision-making under conditions of uncertainty.

Drawing on the research literature, he will present specific examples and propose strategies for managing such biases in clinical practice. The presentation concludes with practical approaches to recognising bias and supporting more reliable reflection on diagnostic decision-making.

Simon Graff's presentation will take place on 12 May from 14:00-14:30 (CEST).
