A national survey on contact and disease patterns

  • in general practice in Denmark

Why is the survey important?

General practice plays a central role in the local healthcare system, and general practice clinics cater to the citizens' individual needs for healthcare advice and treatment.

The national survey on disease patterns (KOS 2025) in general practice in Denmark will provide detailed insight into the current role of general practice in the healthcare system.

This new knowledge may inform the organisation of general practice in the future.

What does the survey contribute?

KOS 2025 is the most comprehensive national survey of Danish general practice. It highlights several key questions: Which patients are seen in general practice? What symptoms do they present with? And what tasks does the clinic perform for this patient contact?

This information is compared with existing knowledge on clinic organisation, access and waiting times, accessibility, complexity, continuity and collaboration on patient care.

Moreover, KOS 2025 will describe the development over time by comparing current and previous contact patterns.

Who can participate in the survey?

All clinics in Denmark using the administrative system CGM XMO will be invited to participate in the KOS 2025 survey.
