The four Danish research units for general practice have established a common network (VID) to strengthen knowledge sharing and implementation in the field of general practice. VID aims to collect, translate and implement knowledge and tools for quality development. An additional aim is to evaluate implementation efforts in general practice.
The VID network focusses on dissemination of knowledge on the timely detection of serious illness, the role of general practice in life-threatening illness, and how general practice may help reduce inequality in health. Two medical consultants, Linda Aagaard Rasmussen and Line Flytkjær Virgilsen, are engaged in VID at the Research Unit of General Practice in Aarhus. They are both active researchers in the field.
The VID network was established in close collaboration with the Danish Cancer Society and the regional quality units.
